Fields of gold

My wife and I have attended seven weddings this summer. The last (and certainly not least) of them was this weekend in Door County, Wisconsin. We rented a cabin on the lake and although the trip was only supposed to take about five hours, we missed an exit and went a little out of our way.

As is the case most often, getting lost usually leads to unexpected good fortune. We passed so many interesting things as we strolled our way through country roads X, Y and Z. Plenty of amazing things to photograph, but nothing as neat as a huge field of sunflowers. It stretched on as far as our eyes could see!

I have to add Door County to my list of top destinations in the Midwest. Great place to unwind. We spent the weekend sipping on cold Leinenkugel beer while star gazing and relaxing by the fire.
