Big eye in the sky

The artist who created this 30-foot, three-dimensional sculpture of a human eye is from my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio and lives nearby in my current neighborhood of Oak Park, Ill. That was enough to convince me to cover the process of installing this eye-catching work. Tony Tasset constructed the fiberglass work of art in Wisconsin, then cut it into 15 pieces and had it delivered to Pritzker Park in downtown Chicago to be assembled and displayed there. Here, crew members place the final piece, the iris.
