And it was all yellow
If you’re a Coldplay fan, you recognize the title of this post. To this day it remains one of my all-time best concert experiences.
Anyway, back on topic. I was in the West Loop today looking for photographs for Chicago Journal when I noticed this fella skateboarding in front of a production company building. The building has several huge garage doors painted deep yellow, which normally wouldn’t photograph well in bright, overhead light. Just by chance though, I spotted him during the later afternoon hours as the sun had started to descend slightly.
I’d bet you a dollar to a doughnut this photo doesn’t make it into print. (Actually, about 90 percent of the images on this blog were never published.) This one really needs to run in color and since generally only the front page of Chicago Journal is published in full color, I doubt it will make the cut, but it has a home here on the ol’ blog. Ain’t technology grand?
UPDATE: Looks like I owe someone a doughnut. A version of this photo did indeed find its way into print. Front page of Chicago Journal. Go figure.
