Grungy bottom

I enjoyed an assignment last night at the Bottom Lounge on Lake St. in Chicago. Bottom Lounge is a pretty unique place with the bar and restaurant out front, and a concert venue in back. While you’re sitting at the bar, possibly saddling up for a drink before heading over to the United Center for a Blackhawks game, you might not even hear the raging concert going on a few feet away.

Once you walk through a set of black double doors, there’s absolutely no missing the concert however. Last night there were six grunge rock bands performing. The top photo is of a band called Texas in July from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The shot on stage looking back at the crowd is of a group called Woe is Me from Atlanta.

Nice place, but my ears were ringing for awhile after I left.
