A Chicago winter can hang around with the best of them. It sort of lingers, and everything looks gray and depressed. Occasionally a nice day will pop up, and everyone goes nuts. It’s like we are filling up on sunshine while the supply lasts. Those days don’t become a consistent occurrence until well into May though.
Meanwhile, things can tend to be a bit blah in the months of February, March and April. At least it makes you appreciate the sunny days (like today) even more. I shot this photo in Lincoln Park along Lake Michigan on my way to a shoot the other day. Nothing special, but I thought it sort of sums up this time of year in the Midwest.
